One of the treasures I brought back from Paris is my favorite belt of the moment (and possibly of all time)– the Collier de Chien belt from Hermes. I have been wanting this belt forever but they never carried small sizes in the US (what– do they think we’re all obese?) so I had to wait until I got to the Paris boutique to get the size 76 (still big but at least manageable around the hips though I am going to try to get Claude to size it down to a 70). Anywho, my lovely, fabulous, punky glam belt is in black calfskin with silver hardware. I know, despite my efforts to pretend I am still a teen, I show my age everytime I talk about how great the 80′s were. This belt reminds me of the glory of the 80′s when Pat Benatar flaunted her studded belts and cuffs with pride. I feel instantly tough when I put it on, and I even walk differently– there is a boldness in my step and a “don’t f$*% with me” sneer that I take on without meaning to. Bizarre but true. It’s borderline trashy but being Hermes, it is made exceptionally well and hopefully will dispel any speculation that I am A.) a streetwalker or B.) an ex of Sid Vicious. $1,575 USD or 1200 Euro.
I want the matching bracelet to this so bad!!!

Hi Lottie! Glad you like the site. I wear my belt with everything! Most recently, slung low on the hip with white pants and an asymmetrical black silk jersey top… I am taking it to Claude at Hermes in NYC to try and make another hole so I can wear it high up on the waist the way it was meant but seeing the smallest size starts at 76 in Europe (80 in US) I don’t see how anyone can wear it around their waist!

I have just aquired a pre-owned Hermes Collier de Chien belt in black leather and gold hardware. It is still in perfect condition with the box. The trouble is, I must be considered a heiffer in your terms as it is a size 70 and just fits around my waist on the last hole. I was more looking to wear it around my hips or on my waist over clothes/ jacket. Anyone interested in buying it? I’m saving up to get a new one when it gets in store in size 90.
