No one is happier than I that the 80′s are back in full force. Ripped jeans were my favorite back in high school though my grandmother made me take them off when she saw me wearing them! I had to hide my torn jeans in my bag to put on at friends’ houses before going out because my grandmother felt it was a sign of bad breeding to wear jeans period, let alone jeans with holes in them! I didn’t have the heart to tell her I paid extra for the holes, for sure she’d beat me with her mah jong stick and call me stupid! To this day I do not wear jeans around her, she likes her granddaughters in pretty dresses and fully made up– God help my cousins who show up at family events without lipstick!!!
When I’m not around grandma, however, I still live in my jeans. Right now, I am lusting for the newest edition to the denim world, Current Eliott– a line of comfy yet well fitted jeans from two stylists in LA who know a thing or two about hipster style. My favorite is the boyfriend jean ($226), which allows me to show off my Marni platforms but the Elephant bell bottoms($239) are super cool, too. They are streamlined in the leg and flare out on bottom, tres flattering– I saw these on my girlfriend in LA and had she not been 6′ tall I would have packed them in my suitcase.
