Ready, Set, Pants!

pantleg (2).jpgAfter many seasons of taking backstage to dresses, pants took center stage again on the runways for Fall 2008 (but lazy girls like me will always love a dress, not having to think about a top and bottom makes getting dressed so easy!).  I think retailers figured out that it's far more profitable to sell you pants, a belt, a shirt and a maybe jacket than just a dress.  Not sure what silhouette is best for you?   Here are some key looks for the season for every figure:

Skinny pants- don't throw out your skinnies yet, if they looks best on you-- keep them!  What I am basically saying is, looking good is "in".  Some great pant choices below:

Skinny-
4. Elizabeth and James Eliot Pant $198
5. Alice + Olivia Wide Waistband Skinny Pant $253

Flare Leg- Exaggerated bell bottoms look great when you're 17 and have toothpick legs but a more flattering silhouette is just a slight flare from a streamlined leg.

1. Alice + Olivia Olivia Wide Waistband Pant $253
2. Nili Lotan Flat Front Wide Leg Pant  $250

Wide legged pants are the look of the season but be careful if you are petite like me- as Nina Garcia advised me, buy a pair of 6" heels to wear with your wide leg pants to avoid looking like a dumpling.

1.  Oscar de la Renta Wide leg pants at Net a Porter $950
2.  Theory Oriane Wide Leg Pant $255
