Giuseppe Zanotti Sculptured Heel Pony Sandals

If you haven’t noticed, it is all about sculptured heels this season, or any kind of unique heel detail. I went shopping and was like, geez, I feel like a cavewomen if I leave the house with just plain stocky heels! Well, I am a sucker for Zanotti and I advocate pony as an alternative to exotic because it is “different” than leather and if you use the strict definition of “strikingly unusual or strange in effect or appearance”, I think pony would fall somewhere in there. And how can you go wrong with black and white? I love the t-strap, it is sexy without being overly uncomfortable (which of course is all relative). I know I am going to sound crazy but the price is surprisingly reasonable to me, mainly because I have been drinking the Kool Aid and am now conditioned to think that $800-$1000 for shoes is average and fine. I mean, my cut off point for shoes is $1000 and I think that is being generous but it is shocking how many designers cannot even contain themselves within that very liberal budget!! Lanvin satin for $1200 and Alaia for $1500!! Am I the crazy one here or is something amiss with the pricing? Anyway, these are a mere $595 which is something in between pricey and agreeable. At Net a Porter.

    shoe prices are ridiculous!

  2. OH BABY. *drool*

  3. I know shoe prices have been out of line for a long time and we are conditioned to think astronomical sums are normal. I was online debating a pair of $795 Louboutins the other day and my (ultra-frugal) husband looked over my shoulder and said, “Hey that’s not a bad price!”
