Trend Alert: Asymmetric

In case you haven’t heard– bare shoulder is the new cleavage. The asymmetric trend continues strong for 2009 and it’s a great way to be chic and sexy (such a fine balance!). For some reason asymmetric silhouettes also make a person look slimmer; I don’ t know if it’s the slant that creates the illusion of length but put on an asymmetric dress or top and you can look 5 pounds lighter!  If you’re timid and unsure of how to wear this trend, jump to see our suggestions!

1. Emanuel Ungaro Silk asymmetric dress– This is a variation of the asymmetric shape, there is still a strap on the other shoulder if you’re self conscious of baring it all.

2. Alexander McQueen Satin one-shoulder dress- OMG this dress is so beyond hot but it might be hard to get used to a sleeve half way down your arm.  I love the contrasting lining peeking out from under.

3.Alexander McQueen Asymmetric silk dress- this is the starter dress for asymmetric, it has just a touch of the silhouette.

4. Tibi Tango silk asymmetric top – This top simple but sexy with the metallic trim.  Again, no cleavage is needed when you have a bare shoulder– just make sure you dust a bit of body shimmer on it!

5. Calvin Klein Media asymmetric dress – Python print?!?!  Sign me up!

6.Stella McCartney Asymmetric mini dress – this is a more formal version of the trend.  Tres elegant!

7. Lela Rose One shouldered dress – A great way to add oomph if you are lacking in the chest department– the ruffles add inches to if you are large chested, I’d stick wtih the more streamlined version!
