I love nautical-inspired looks! Shopbop has a whole section devoted to the current trend with some wonderful finds. The only problem as we all know is that nautical horizontal stripes can sometimes visually add a few pounds. I’ve found that with wider stripes as well as with stripes that are relatively far apart, this problem is significantly minimized. Opting for outwear (like a blazer), is a great way to avoid the problem as well (and of course you can always go for nautical stripped accessories like hats, shawls, or scarves!). All that said if you’re looking to show-off your figure and get in the mood for summer why not try your hand at some thin blue and white horizontal stripped shirts a la Jessica Biel — how effortlessly chic does she look?
