Summer is just around the corner and we’ve begun the hunt for the must have accessory for hot weather -a pair of chic sunglasses! I love Silhouette for its feather lightweight glasses (I have 3 pairs of prescription glasses that I keep on my night table for late night TV, in my car for late night driving and a spare just in case I lose one of the above– I can’t live without my Silhouettes!) I also keep a couple of pairs of Silhouette sunglasses in my car because they’re lightweight and don’t leave marks on my nose. I know you will love them– which is why we are giving away a pair of Silhouette Harmonia Sunglasses from its 2009 collection!
To win– Tell me your favorite vacation spot and why you love it!
Rules- Leave your answer in comments. US residents only please. Quiz will end on March 31st at midnight EST. Winner will be chosen via random computer drawing.
A big thank you to Silhouette for sponsoring this giveaway!
Check out Silhouette’s new Virtual Mirror where you can play around with different styles to find one that suits you, all online from the comfort of your home.

My favorite place to vacation is Bali. I’m fortunate to have family in Indonesia, and I’ve been vacationing there since I was a little girl. Absolutely unrivaled clear ocean water, beautiful snorkeling, stunning volcanic islands, white sand beaches and fantastic 5-star pampering services for the non-outdoor inclined. Also a must see: Balinese art, music, and *dance*… the coolest, most intricate, beautifully costumed and passionate cultural dances and storytelling you’ve ever seen! Best of all, despite the dedication the Balinese have to their tourism industry, traveling there is still affordable.
Savannah, GA — because that’s where we went on our honeymoon. Second place: Florence, Italy
I love vacationing in the Dominican Republic. It’s gorgeous, inexpensive, and generally not overrun with annoying tourists.
My favorite vacation spot St. Maartin, I have been going there since I was a kid and I absolutely love the unpretentiousness of the place, its the caribbean just being its beautiful self. I also love edinburgh in the summer, it has such a mystic and old vibe that is the antithesis of the typical vacation but is incredible anyway.
my favorite dream vacation is paris, the ultimate fashion spot and also the most romantic city in the world! i hope i will get to visit it soon.
St. Lucia….very mellow, relaxing and beautiful.
Paris – definitely. The city is beautiful, artistic and fashionable. I love Paris more and more everytime I come back.
any place where this sun, sand and surf..for this cali girl
I vacation at “home” at a local lake in a sailboat – so every weekend and sometimes during the week too.
Las Vegas, will the shopping and the relaxation~
London- such an amazing city!
These are absolutely perfect for my favorite vacation hot spots. Even tie between sunny, Cancun, Mexico and sunny Puerto Rico with their crystal clear water beaches, amazing dining, and horseback riding on the beach
My favourite vactaion spot is Sri Lanka. It had soemthing to offer to each of my varied tastes- gorgeous beaches, dewy hill stations, great shopping deals – all in this one tiny island of a country! I’ve never come back from vacation as refreshed as I did from this emerald isle.
St. Malo or Deauville(both in France). They both have lovely beaches and the atmosphere is VERY relaxing. Both places are very different from Paris but equally charming. And the people are so much kinder, too!
My favorite vacation spot is San Francisco because it has great food, great nightlife, and awesome shopping.
Tokyo– for the urban nightlife, amazing shopping, and incredible eats
My favorite vacation spot is Capri (Italian island off the Sorrentine Peninusula on the south side of the Gulf of Naples)the weather, food and shopping is amazing.
Hopetown, Abacos, Bahamas. Because the 300 permanent residents are the coolest peeps in the world.
Hopetown, Abacos, Bahamas. Because the 300 permanent residents are the coolest peeps in the world.
My dream vacation spot is Greece. The sun, the sea, the beaches – what’s not to love? And it’s also the perfect spot to rock an awesome pair of sunglasses.
Anywhere with sun and sand!
Guangzhou so I can visit my parents’ homeland
Very boring, but I love the Jersey shore. I love Silhouette frames. They are the only glasses that I wear and have worn for the last eight or nine years. I did not know they made them into sunglasses now. When they first came out, they had small shades you clipped on the front of the glasses which weren’t convenient and I scratched my glasses when a piece of sand from the shore got caught inbetween.
My favorite vacation spot is in California. I love everything about it. The attractions like Disneyland, Knottsberry Farm, Spruce Goose, The Queen Elizabeth II, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, The Wax Museum, Rodeo Drive, Belle Air, Beverly Hills, The Max Factor Museum, The Stars Walk of Fame, the shopping, the sun, the beautiful people….EVERYTHING! It’s the perfect place for adults and kids alike!
My favorite vacation spot was in Nassau, Bahamas. Because it was calm and relaxing since there were hardly any tourists.
Fav vacay spot has to be St John’s in USVI. Our honeymoon destination which was fabulous in January. We keep talking about going back- soon! Lovely beaches and resorts. The people are incredible- very friendly and accommodating. Food is to die for!!! I am reminiscing once again……
Myrtle Beach! Great shopping, restaurants and nitelife!
my favorite vacation spot is my dads house in Killeen, Texas. I know its a small town but its quite and we have a pool and I can hang out with my dad without anyone asking about prada shoes in a size 9…LOL
well, i’d love to go to venice or france…but i’ve never been so i can’t really comment….
but my favourite vacation spot is HONG KONG! it’s actually home, where i grew up for 18 years, but everytime i go back it’s a vacation spot since i came to college in los angeles. it’s just so different, where everything is so compacted and not segregated! not having a car in LA really raelly sucks, whereas i feel so free in hong kong, i can take the cab everywhere! my family is also there, my high school friends, there’s no drama because i’m not there all the time. i miss it! every time i go back i stock up on yummy asian snacks and cheap clothes! food there is also awesome! and people there are also much more materialistic than in LA, at least the area i’m in! everyone’s carrying nice purses, dressed fashionably. oh and of course, tax free!
but honestly, i don’t really want to live there for the long term again. not really the lifestyle i like, so i’d prefer it to be a vacation spot.
My favourite place to have holidays is Greece:
*always the nice smells and perfumes,
*the olives and the olive oil,
*oranges about to ripe,
*wherever you look you see the sun and the sea,
*your perfectly private spot of beach and water,
*so close of Africa and yet so European
That’s why I love Crete and especially Chania… a wonderful city, full of history and love …
Maui! It’s the perfect blend of gorgeous beaches where you can just relax and amazing activities like kite surfing and snorkeling
My favorite vacation spot, is the west coast. It’s breathtakingly beautiful.
My favorite vacation spot in NYC. So much to do, so much to see, so much to buy! The shopping really is best there, and there’s never a dull moment in NYC! It’s definitely not great for a relaxing vacation, but I go to school in the middle of rural Ohio so I crave the hustle and bustle of the big city.
My favorite vacation spot is Tokyo, because it is seriously cool. Maid cafes and mangas aside, there is so much to see and so much to buy. The culture is overflowing at the seams of that country. If I wanted to, I could participate in festivals in Yukata, watching cherry blossoms fall, or visit a shrine and take lots of pictures with my canon.
I luv Trinidad. The island, people and food are just gorgeous. Carnival!!!
I don’t get out much, but when I am able to get away, just a quick drive to San Diego, CA is a getaway. I’m the Bay Area, so whenever I can leave, going south is perfect. Although I don’t really like going during the summer (much too hot)- I’m much more of a Fall girl, the days are warm and pleasant. You can go to the beach or walk around the Gaslamp District or anywhere and just enjoy the scenery. Then, at night- you can do the same thing! You don’t even need a sweater (but you bring one…just in case). You head down to a local hangout and enjoy conversation with whomever you’re with and it’s just what it should be- a vacation. Leave the blackberry at home.
My favorite spot is Thailand. The dollar is strong, food is great, people are nice, and the beaches are the best.
My favorite place to vacation (with great sunglasses) is Moorea, in the South Pacific. The fragrant flowers, the drums beating for nearly daily weddings, the shallow waters filled with coral, and the gorgeous mountainous peaks, fill all the of the senses.
hawaii because it’s just so peaceful and what a great place to have some relaxation!
The Seychelles – so idyllic – I hope I get well enough to make it back there. Its heaven on earth.
My favorite is the island of Capri in Italy. The most beautiful water in the world can be found there & although it is very deep, you can see to the bottom. A wonderful vacation spot for the whole family!
My favorite spot is the island of Capri. The water is the most beautiful in the world, so clear and blue green. No matter how deep it is, you can see to the bottom. Beautiful place, lots of sunshine.
My fave spot is Venice, Italy. Love it because its romantic, has alot of places to see, and I just love Italy!
My favorite place to relax and unwind is Vegas. I love the lights and all the action. It makes you forget your worries. Unfortunately it also makes you forget your budget sometimes. OOPS!

The Four Seasons resort in Nevis. You cannot beat the incredible service and beautiful beaches!
I really don’t like to travel and prefer to vacation at home.
It’s so peaceful and quiet and I can catch up on my reading.
LA- There are beautiful beaches and high class shopping!
My favorite spot to vacation is definitely Kyoto, the ‘Old Capital’ of Japan. I actually think it may be one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but you have to sort of train yourself to appreciate it–because the beauty is not of the “hit you over the head” type, but rather in small, out of the way places: in a little alley in one of the geisha neighborhoods (Pontocho) when it’s waking up at dusk, in the shop window of a 500-year-old folding fan store, in a temple moss garden, and so on. The city is a feast for all the senses… I love the food, for example the traditional sweets, and all the ancient little shops that make and sell them. And every time I’m there I pick up some incense–the kind that artisans have been crafting out of spices and perfumed woods for centuries, for the old nobility. I put a sachet or two in my drawers at home, and remember Kyoto. (But Kyoto is also incredibly hip, and the home of lots of cutting edge fashion–so next time I go I would definitely want to be wearing my new Silhouette shades with my latest black Yohji Yamamoto outfit!)
Jackson Hole, WY! Secluded and gorgeous!
Bani, Dominican Republic. Some of the best experiences of my life have been while down there volunteering; the people are just lovely!
My favorite spot to vacation is definitely Phi Phi Island, known to have one of the world’s nicest beaches. The tranquil water, the white sand, the breath-taking scenery, the oriental food, and the hospitality of the people there just want to make you come back.
Las Vegas! It’s a very liberating place! Plus excellent restaurants for food-oriented moi!
Any lovely beach spot of course but THE SEYCHELLES in the Indian Ocean…Alphonse Resort is the best….their staff rocks.
Also, spending good quality time with friends and family can also be a good choice…
There are plenty of places that I haven’t been yet, like Vegas and Paris, but so far my favorite vacation spot is Taipei. I love visiting my grandparents and getting a taste of a completely different culture. The closest thing that we have here in NYC and it’s just not quite it.
My favorite place to vacation is Toronto Canada because my family is there.
The Outer Banks, North Carolina! My family is scattered all across the U.S., and we gather each summer and rent a giant beachhouse just feet from the shore. Relaxing in a bikini on the warm sand, bodysurfing in the calm waves, watching my son build sandcastles with his grandpa, barbecuing fresh corn on the cob, chasing fireflies, sleeping in late, catching up with my sis, NO work and no email, and all the fishing my husband could want! Heaven on earth.
My favorite vacation spot is Hong Kong because of the fast-paced lifestyle and the people living there. No matter what time of day or night it is, you can always find shops open outside.
WoW so many exotic and romantic vacations, I’m seriously turning green here. Thanks so much to all who shared.
We go to N. Myrtle Beach a couple of times a year. Great shopping, restaurants, and nite life, not to mention PLENTY to keep the kids busy.
LaJolla, California
LaValencia Hotel
The service, the food, the atmosphere, the ocean – perfection!
I love Paris!! I do love Florence, Italy and Seville, Spain, but Paris is my favorite.
my favorite place to visit is my hometown of Venezuela because it brings me back to my roots and its a time when I relax on the beach and party on the margarita islands!!
My favorite vacation spot is Disney World in Flordia. I love the rides and the atmosphere and allthe fun I have everyday.
My favorite vacation spot is Disney World in Flordia. I love the rides and the atmosphere and allthe fun I have everyday.
My favorite vacation spot is Vegas! I loved it because the Buffets are amazing and the shows can be really fun. Also, food open at 3 am!
While exotic vacations are fun, my favorite place each year is Corolla on the beach in North Carolina. Our children, their friends, cousins, aunts, dogs, etc. — all meet for two weeks. There is tons of food, laughing, sand, naps on the hammock on the porch, coctails overlooking the beach, and just a jumble of people, bathing suits, and fun.
Kona, Hawaii – because whenever I leave, I have tears running down my face…
My favorite vacation spot is Hawaii – any island. It’s the closest spot on earth to Paradise!
Niseko, Japan for snow skiing, New Zealand for idyllic landscapes, and Krabi, Thailand for crystal clear water and completely chill atmosphere.
ANYWHERE I’ve never been would be a great vacation spot. That leaves ANYWHERE in the WORLD except the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Florida or Pennsylvania!
My favorite vacation spot is any big city in the world. I have been to quite a few already but have a lot to go. So far my favorite city is Paris France.
Well, NYC of course! It’s the center of the universe! I always feel as if I am a part of something bigger when I am there. I LOVE NY!!!

My favorite vacation spot is anywhere that’s not raining and has shopping.
My favorite vacation spot is on the beaches of Israel because the people are beautiful, the water is always warm, and as nighttime rolls around, there’s always action happening.
London!!! horrible food, but cute cute cute guys <3
St. Barth’s…..it was the first trip my husband and I ever took together and also where we later got married.
I loved Barbados. The island is beautiful. I had such a wonderful time there on my honeymoon, I want to go back.
My favorite spot to vacation is the Phillippines. There is a beautiful range of remote islands with smaller more private beaches that are not crowded to islands that cater to tourists with full-service resorts. I love to visit the smaller more remote islands where it is easy to grab a kayak and paddle off to waterfalls and lagoons. Dining on all of the exotic fruits is a huge plus, I always wished I could take some back with me! Swimming in the beach there is so refreshing and peaceful. Can’t wait to go again this summer
I personally loved Taiwan. It is the home of my ancestors, and where my father works year roung. My siblings, mother, and I usually go there every year for a visit in the summer. Food is awesome and fashion is bizarre and the shopping in the night bazaars are amazing.
My favorite vacation spot is Paris. It is such a romantic, beautiful city. The shopping has to be the best of any place I’ve been to.
My favorite vacation spot is Florida because the weather is wonderful and I am never bored with all the many attractions in and around Orlando.
My favorite place to go is Honolulu, Hawaii (totally cliche, I know). I loved being able to walk around outside in the pouring rain and still be warm enough to enjoy it in a tank top and shorts! The only thing that I didn’t like was the creepy old man who asked to take a picture with me – and my mom obliged! Other than that, I love the fact that everything smells and tastes like flowers.

My favorite vacation spot is Napa Valley! It’s very close to where I live and the scenery is great and the weather is always beautiful. The fabulous choices of food and wine don’t hurt either!
my favorite place to vacation is italy, i especially love venice. many people think it is the adult disney world. i find it intriguing, exotic, and a unique combination of beauty, decadence, art, food, shopping, and it speaks to my soul.
I’m going to have to say Tokyo. Everything there is either cute or cool.
Jamaica, because it’s inexpensive and there are many adventures i enjoyed.
Miami because it was the first time that I really felt relaxed. The air was perfect, the foam from the waves crashing on the beach, took all the stress of life away. This was a trip taken with some good friends as sort of a post college graduation celebration (even though I graduated the year before). Miami made me happy and helped me move on after the stress of graduating, finding a new job, and getting over an 11-year relationship. It was also the beginning of a new romance. Because of this, Miami will forever hold a special place in my heart.
THANK YOU SILHOUTTE and COUTURE SNOB!!! I have never won anything before…..so cool…thanks….
Kirstein
Also, I love the Virtual Mirror idea Silhouette has, I am definitely going to try it out, I am looking for another pair of prescription glasses….
Jersey Shore – reminds me of my youth -beach by day boardwalk by night.
