Neon is nothing new to the fashion scene, however after lying dormant for a series of years, it's been given life anew via accessories such as shoes, belts, bags, and the like. Just to reinforce that neon is on the rise, we easily spotted it on the runway at Andrew Gn, Celine, Giles Deacon, United Bamboo, and even Louis Vuitton. The key to being successfully stylish with neon is to not revisit neon fashion mistakes of yore by going all over neon, but rather using a pop of it here and there. I've pulled together some great accessories at fabulous prices to help you become neon chic without tipping too far into the color danger zone. Let's start with these Neon Pink and Turquoise '80s Sunglasses ($15, Torrid.com) which will add a dash of the bright color panache without disrupting your already scheduled outfit. Two other perfectly complimentary neon wardrobe accents would be either this AKA New York - Neon Pink Bandana Scarf ($139, Kitson), or the Classic Leather Belt in orange or neon pink ($29.50, J.Crew).

Ready to step up the bright quotient? Go for a bright tote or clutch, such as theSR SQUARED by Sondra Roberts Neon Bow Clutch ($35, Endless.com), Urban Expressions Incredibly Dash Clutch ($34, Baghaus),or the Liz Claiborne Logo Pop Magazine Tote ($52, Macy's). Show off your slight penchant for neon via a of-the-moment sandal style; I recommend the Jeffrey Campbell Lattice Heel in fuchsia ($128, Urban Outfitters), the Sam Edelman Gilda Sandals ($80, also Urban Outfitters) or the BCBGirls Polands Sandals in Sunflower ($110, Piperlime.com). Enjoy your neon accessories this summer, and remember that there's always a way to add some bright color without looking like a 1990s "fly girl".
