Celeb Trend: Ripped Leggings

Can you imagine getting sunburned while wearing a pair of ripped leggings!? That fear is enough to keep me from sporting them (at least the ones with big rips in the front). For the most part though, I also don’t find this style to be particularly flattering — especially when the rips are huge and extremely uneven like they are in the pair that Miley Cyrus is sporting. I do think MK looks chic though and the ripped look goes very well with her style. Jump for some ripped leggings picks!

David Lerner Ripped Leggings

David Lerner Ripped Leggings ($99) — I could see a rocker-chic gal pulling these off with a baggy, simple white tee.

Leyendecker Kerouac Ripped Leggings

Leyendecker Kerouac Ripped Leggings ($125) — these I’m actually very tempted to buy! What do you think — would you wear ripped leggings?

You can also get them at American Apparel for $34 if you’re a frugal snob and don’t want to invest much in this trend http://store.americanapparel.net/8328slit.html#i

  2. This is homeless person fashion. I’m not a fan.

I don’t get the point: why spending money to look like a homeless person?

And to think about all the times I threw away my tights and leggings after they ripped!! I cry!!

I agree with Coco . . . buy those puppies at AA for $34. It’s silly to pay $100 (or more) for this trend. And, no, I would not wear these things!!!

I think those Leyendecker leggings are well worth the money, though they may be considered trendy, as long as you wear it true to your own style, it doesn’t matter whether it is “in” or not, just as long as you can rock them. Plus the Leyendecker ones are much more subtle and elegant than the David Lerner ones
