Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Lego Sunglasses

LEGO.jpgDIY is all the rage these days — everyone seems to want their apparel and accessories to have a personal touch. I recently wrote about the Ray Ban Colorize Kit and was indecisive about whether or not to get one. I’m glad I held off. I’m completely obsessed with these Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Lego sunglasses. I first read about them on Dazed Digital and have since e-mailed my friend Christine who is based in Paris to pick me up a pair. I’ve long been a fan of JC/DC and my absolute favorite show of all time was his Lego-inspired S/S 2009 showing at the Louvre in Paris during Fashion Week — I was seated a few feet away from Sacha Baron Cohen’s Bruno character (hope that scene makes the film!), and I loved that the designer had a sense of humor about the comedian crashing his show. Yes the actual glasses look pretty cheap and no I will probably never wear these in public, but they are so classic JC/DC (plus I know that between my bf and my brother, both of whom were once Lego devotees, someone will proudly wear them). What do you think about this Lego concoction?

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac PLUG sunglasses available now at JCDC stores at 50-51 Conduit Street, London W1 or 10 rue vauvilliers, 75001 Paris for 110 euros.
