It was 105 degrees yesterday and hard for me to imagine wanting to put on anything but a pair of shorts or mini skirt but Jil Sander’s Wool-blend structured dress is so understated fabulous I am thinking it will sell out soon so I should jump on it. Yes it’s kind of school marmish but that’s its appeal to me! This kind of dress can carry off a pair of hooker heels like nobody’s business! I am also dying to cinch it with my Hermes CDC belt to give it a tighter silhouette. $1,395 at Net-a-porter.com What do you think, buy fall pieces now and store in your closet for 5 months or wait til it’s actually cold?!?! I’m torn because I have experienced both ends of the spectrum, a dress I buy months ahead of season goes to 75% before I even have a chance to wear it or it sells out…
Sorry, but I’m not a fan of this one at all! I think that the extra fabric in the skirt would likely make for an unsightly bulge when worn.
I actually love the dress. I don’t think the “bulge” would be too awful, especially if a belt is worn.
As for when to buy . . . before these hard times hit, I would buy what I really, really had to have right away and not worry about it going down in price. However, times have changed and I will wait at least until October before commiting to anything. If it sells out then it wasn’t meant to be!! Gotta squeeze every dollar.
