Roksanda Ilincic is an inspiration-- a child of the Bosnian war, she shot to fame from fashion student to star designer in a very short time. She was inspired by the idea of transforming cocktail and evening dresses into something more approachable in terms of fabric and her cruise collection is a confection of shift dresses crafted from linen with layers of ruffles and dresses made from contrasting panels of silk and organza in shades of dove gray, pale peach and black. Luxury is about individually, not about labels or what celebs are hawking of the moment and Ilinicic's line represents a new luxury. I am dying to get my hands on her clothes! Find the line at Blake in Chicago 312-202-0047 and Linda Dresner boutiques in NYC 212-308-3177. In Europe-- try Harvey Nichols.
