When it comes to hot NYC days, denim does not rank high among my favorite fabrics to wear — nothing grosser than the feeling of sweat wedged between your legs and your skinny jeans (except maybe some nylon..eeck!). While tight jeans may not be the best option, denim dresses are a viable alternative. Though they’re not as light as cotton or linen ones, they’re not nearly as constricting as pants. Stars from Misha Barton to Hayden Panettiere and Eva Longoria Parker have recently been spotted in them and no, they’re not the ill-fitting kind a la J. Lo circa five years ago. Actually I was surprised that even brands like Miu Miu and Lanvin now carry covetable denim dresses. In fact I never thought I’d even be one to support this trend, but I just picked-up a denim mini from Acne on sale (60%!) at Barneys Co-op and I’m loving it. Unfortunately I can’t find it online, but it has two protruding shapes coming from the waist — very cool silhouette. See below for some options and after the jump for where to pick them up!
