Frugal Snob: Skinny pant cheap thrills!

I walked by a Forever 21 store a month ago and was enticed by a wall of rainbow colored skinny pants. I decided to try a pair on and was amazed at how well they fit! I grabbed about 12 pairs and have been wearing them almost daily. Every time I wear them my friends freak out and want the same-- when I tell them they cost less than a cocktail they really lose it! At least 7 girlfriends have copied me and scooped multiple pairs for themselves. I wear them with everything from Rick Owens jackets to tiny tee shirts. The cotton fabric is fairly lightweight and stretchy so it's way more comfortable than jeans in 100 degree weather. I've been waiting to feature them because I didn't know if they'd fall apart like my past F21 purchases! I'm pleased to report that after weeks of multiple washing and drying, they are still holding up. My favorite pairs are the white and grey, it's a great alternative to leggings. If you want to try them, get a size smaller, they stretch and by the end of the day will be very loose (but a quick wash and dry shrink them right back up!). $13.50 at Forever21.

  • Thank you for sharing this. It makes me feel a lot better that you not a price snob. I love mixing Forever 21 pieces once in a while. For me, F21 pants have one of the best fits. But I also opt for natural fabrics because everything else does look and feel very cheap.

    • I am all about high low. Years ago when people were buying the ridiculous Juicy linen pants for $150 (myself included, I got a white pair that fell apart, the strings broke, the stitching loosened!)

I got the Mossimo version at Target after that and to this day they are fine :)

  • I bought one in red and I am absolutely pleased with it as well. :) I am glad you've featured it!!

    Mine in red:

I wonder why they didn't have one in red in the website, might be because I bought mine in the canadian F21 website. :)

  • I also bought two pairs from F21 for 12 bucks each. More than anything I was surprised by the fit. I just hope they were not put together by a six year old.

    • OMG< I know......... so sad and totally wrong but the alternative for that 6 year old may be starvation and/or slavery, child prostitution :(

Wish there is something we can do collectively to stop child labor world wide and find alternatives to fund their education, any thoughts?
