Leighton Meester 2009 Emmys: Old Hollywood Glamour

Leighton Meester is a vision of old Hollywood glamour in Bottega Veneta's Bianco Chiffon Evening Gown and Carminio Crocodile Knot Clutch (to die!) at the 2009 Emmys. Her high drama make up looks amazing with the white dress and I'm loving the gold cuffs, too. I may be the odd girl out who loves this look but I think Leighton blew Blake Lively away on stage. I watched the pre-show on E! and Nene from Real Housewives said this dress was made for mountain climbing. Uh, when did Nene become a fashion expert? She kept saying she was waiting for the "BAM"; maybe she got the E! Red Carpet show confused with "The Girls Next Door". Nene, that show starts next week. As for me, I'll take glam over bam any day.

  • I am not as into the dress. the knots are too big. But a nice looks overall.

  • By the way, forgot to say: I love her, she's so classy and the dress reflects her uptown sensibilities.

  • I really like Blake Lively but for me, Leighton Meester takes the cake! She has this stunning beauty that you just can't take your eyes off of

  • She resembles Kate Winslet in this picture.

  • Now I know why one isn't supposed to have strong eyes and strong lips at the same time. All that and the heavy blush makes her look like a ten-year-old who went nuts with her mom's make up. It also ages her; she looks ten years older!

  • Blake and Leighton are both all American girls. However, I have to say that after watching them over the past two years, I prefer Leighton. Ms Meester takes chances with fashion and is not afraid to make mistakes. She also has a body that I can identify with, not too thin and not too toned. There's a certain comfort coming from within her as if to say "I like me and I don't care what you think". =)

This dress on her is a daring choice, not too safe. It is not perfect but it beats all the yawn-inducing proper Emmy dresses on the red carpet.
