I am officially Balmain obsessed, or as my friend Couture Snob Heidi says “Balmania!” Cristophe Decarnin continues with a strong shoulder for Spring 2010 but softens the silhouette with draped gold dresses for the gladiator in all of us. Shredded to perfection and wrapped in chain mail– I will need to start saving now for the 4 figure dresses. Of course I’ll need the shrunken leather jacket– it’s ridiculously chic over tattered shorts and gold tank top! I am super anxious to see the debut of Balmain bags, too. We were promised the exclusive on Bag Snob– stay tuned!

wooo girl, u said it. shredded, laced and chained. my kind of dresses!
Tina….I always look on lovingly at net-a-porter and Harrods collection of “Balmania” the collection usually makes me smile but the prices make me weep….its as much as my mortgage repayments!! How can they justify these prices?!Without being rude and nosey will you really be purchasing from the collection…only I remember the comments from you last season saying it was just too much to justify I just wonder what had changed your mind….or is it purely treating yourself because of your top secret success that hopefully you will share with us all soon!

Hi Lottie,
I still find it very pricey but have better understanding of the work that goes into the clothes. Decarnin utilizes haute couture techniques and there is a lot of work in each piece.
I still have not bought a single piece… am waiting for that one that will make me throw all reason out the window. That black metallic shredded dress (upper right) really speaks to the 80′s girl in me… I weep! xoxo
