I’m seriously debating about getting this 3.1 Phillip Lim Sequined Silk Dress ($675) as my New Year’s dress (less than a month away!). I love the gold sequined tank underlay and the draping is gorgeous. The only thing stopping me is that I’m thinking the ivory might make it a bit too summery for a cold New Year’s Eve in NYC (the dress comes in black and blue as well, but doesn’t look as good as the above option). I’m not feeling how net-a-porter has styled this look…would love to see the dress paired with some black pumps with bold gold accents to bring out the sequin as well as a statement ring. I also don’t think the dress was the best fit for someone as low-key as Michelle Williams, but then again I have yet to try this piece on so who knows if I’d even be able to pull-it off…!
What do you think about this look? Do you have your New Year’s Eve ensemble planned-out already?
I have been eyeing this dress for New Years too! I have not tried it on yet, but I keep being tempted by it online. I agree that the white is the prettiest but that it might be too summery for a cold New Years Eve, so I might consider the navy or black.
Love this dress!! Wore it for a GQ party and it was fabulous!! Everyone will be in black so I think the white will look WHITE HOT! Highly recommended!! Paired it with the Anya Hindmarch Nadja reversible metallic clutch and black patent Rupert Sanderson pumps.
