Marc Jacobs is insanely talented. Each season his RTW surprises me (and not in a scary way like some of his bags, either) and hence my schizo love/hate relationship with him (totally onesided, I’m certain he has no idea I exist). Take this dress for example, it’s as different as can be from his previous collection of gold lame and heavy tweed– so different I was shocked it was from MJ. But part of his genius is that you can never define him. Just when you think you’ve pegged him, he’s bored and gone off in a whole new direction. This lady like asymmetric boatneck dress with floral print is soft and feminine but don’t worry about hanging loose without a bra, he’s made a built-in bustier top with it. I know, genius. i can’t even concentrate on the dress because those are the most horrifying manikins ever!! stretched out pointy cone neck = no no no!!
I know! I tried cutting off the neck but then it looked like a truncated figure. It’s so disturbing to look at it!
