For those who fear color or simply love sticking to neutrals, a dose of creamy lace is the way to stay on top of trends this spring. Soft and pretty, you’re never too young or too old to wear it. Black lace is blatantly seductive, while creamy lace captures a sense of effortless sophistication.
Perhaps it all started on Dolce & Gabbana‘s Spring 2011 runway – a divine show of peasant girls dressed in almost strictly white lace, layers of it both sheer and crisp cotton, including playful bloomers and playsuits, doily-print dresses. Now you can find creamy lace, a vaguely less virginal take on pure white, on everything: blazers, sheath dresses, blouses, tanks, and even booties. Just don’t wear them all together, unless you’re still in Pre-K (or you’re Madonna circa 1984). You wouldn’t want to end up looking like cream puff. A dollop of creamy lace is just right. Think of being kissed by it, not smothered. Check out the cream of the crop below (sorry, could not resist)!
