Hanne Gaby Odiele has got cabin fever, but you wouldn’t know it by her wardrobe. Derek Lam set the scene for round three of 10 Crosby, his little-sister line, in a minimalist New York apartment – although, these are clothes you’ll want to hit the streets in.
Lam definitely has a way with basics; he makes a simple fur vest look refreshing and brand-new. A major standout: the knit peplum sweater, worn casually over a layered shirt-dress, which I can’t wait to snap up come fall. Flowing pajama-style pants in madras-plaid and kitten prints, high-waisted leather skirts, sheer chiffon with loads of movement, and skinny silk scarves all have a mellow seventies vibe. But even if the influences are clear, this is no ode to vintage – it’s more of a serenade to the modern girl who lives downtown, succeeds at work, and loves to go out. She’s also a girl who’s true to her man (Derek, of course), now showcasing a logo tee, right in time for the brand to really take off.
