I now steal clothes from my son’s closet. He’s a boys’ size 8, which is a bit snug on me but I like the tailoring! During the summer, I often wore his Ralph Lauren big pony shirts (much to his chagrin and humiliation). But the last straw for him was when I put on his school-uniform jacket to do school drop-off (“ARE YOU TRYING TO RUIN ME? THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING”). Fine, I’ll get my own schoolboy jackets.

Add a bright floral top ($150) layered under a crewneck ($52-$65) – the more color the better; we’re not actual school boys and we need the extra feminine touches – plus Bottega Veneta loafers (at Barneys New York for $620), DL1961 jeans (on Shopbop for $148), and a stolen-from-the-boys Stella McCartney signet ring (on Net-a-Porter for $335), and I have a new fall uniform.
