Marc Jacobs Spring 2013: The White Stripes
By Couture Snob Tina
January 1, 2013

Marc Jacobs Spring 2013

I have a feeling 2013 will be like 1993, when I was besotted with everything Marc Jacobs, especially his now infamous striped Perry Ellis collection (forever kicking myself for losing my Perry Ellis jacket and long dress!). The show in September was one of MJ’s best and most graphic, ever. I’m so excited to finally be able to order everything. The problem is that I want it all and I want it now. I guess you can say I plan to overdose on stripes in 2013! Pre-order the collection at Marc Jacobs.

Pieced Longsleeve Dress with Cutout ($2,500): This is on the top of my (very long) list. Marc did some serious time traveling for this collection – the ‘60s Mod-inspired symmetry of this dress is sheer perfection.

Pieced Long T-Shirt Dress ($1,900): The ombre stripes here are surprisingly flattering, and require almost no accessorizing – carry a bright shoulder bag or clutch and you’re good to go.

Merino Asymmetrical Dress ($995): Marc knows how to nail asymmetry, too! This dress is proof positive that black and white graphics aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Stripe Boatneck Sweater ($995): How cute is this sweater?? It makes me want to throw on a sailor’s cap and head out to the water. I’ll probably end up taking a subtler route, though. The sweater on its own is enough of an homage to the high seas.

Horizontal Stripe Button Blazer ($1,200) and Pleated Skirt ($995): Pair this blazer with skinnies and some flats for a casual look or update your work wardrobe with bold stripes. I would wear the pieces separately, but you’re the boss in your office.
