I've written about my love for hats before and since the trend seems to only have grown! It doesn't seem to matter if it's east coast or west coast -- celebs are topping-off their outfits with hats everywhere! I'm still loving hats especially the slouchy kind though when it comes to keeping my ears warm they're not always the most useful:) Jump for some snob finds!

Tarina Tarantino

HAT01U8Nude_detail.jpg Tarina Tarantino is a name that has become synonymous among LA's elite fashionistas with one word... "sparkle"! Her products are whimsical and unique, and sometimes integrate a touch of the macabre. The designs of Tarina Tarantino are unmistakably girly, and while I am not one to leave my house dressed in pink and covered in sparkles, I found several items that felt very satisfyingly feminine. This Crystal Pave Mini Top Hat from her "Dollskin Collection" is my absolute favorite piece!! This hat is the most unquestionably fabulous accessory for the Holidays, and the only thing I would want to grace my coif come whatever New Years Eve party I choose to grace with my presence ;). Each Mini Top Hat is handmade and completely covered in Swarovski crystals (in the color of your choice, of course), and graced by a delicate frothy bouquet of tulle flowers set to one side. But you better make your purchase soon, because each piece is 'couture' you can expect a 3-4 week wait, which means you should order now if you want to wear this lovely item during the holidays!

Le Rive Gauche Style

leftbankchic.jpgmarcbymj.jpg

To celebrate Paris fashion week next week, we found a few pieces that evoke the chic of Le Rive Gauche. The Left Bank girls are unapologetic in their bold style and bohemian life. Unlike the ladies who lunch in pillbox hats at the Ritz gossiping about this or that, the Rive Gauche girl is more likely to be sitting at a street side cafe with a beret thrown jauntily on her head living this or that. Check out the beret above here, and green scribble houndstooth dress here-- both at Net-a-porter.com.

Straw Fedoras and Droopy Berets

I've been obsessed with hats lately -- especially straw fedoras like the one Diane Kruger was recently spotted wearing. I think they add a touch of quirk to some of my more classic outfits, plus they protect my super-pale skin from the sun:) Basically if anyone sees me shopping the streets these days I'm likely to be decked-out in a hat and Ray Ban Aviators (the only sunglasses that seem to flatter my face!-- my bone structure is apparently not meant for sunglasses:-(). Droopy hats/faux-berets are really cute too and I'm loving Eugenia Kim's new line (side tidbit -- the designer once shaved-off all her hair after a bad haircut -- talk about a Britney moment!!!). Check-out some of these stylish hat picks below that are versatile enough to take you from summer through the fall!

Couture Snob Fall Wardrobe Act I

fallwardrobe1.jpg
Last month I kicked in to Fall gear and started planning my Fall wardrobe.  Each season I splurge on key looks that I mix with old stuff from my existing wardrobe.  Accessories are very important when updating-- I buy a lot of shoes, belts, jewelry and bags (but of course!)  As are jackets and coats for Fall.  Above is a collage of what I purchased recently with a few items from my closet.

YSL- the only three initials I need this Fall!  1. & 3.The two jackets and 2. silver peplum top I ordered yesterday are to die for!  All are gorgeous with a pair of cigarette pants or extra long flared pants.  Giving a shout out to Brian Solis from YSL Headquarters- thanks for helping me pick out the goods!  All at YSL boutiques or Neiman Marcus. (Call Giovanni at Neiman Marcus YSL- 972-629-1700 ext 2037)

Shoes- 5. My sequined Louboutins are from last season (purchased on sale at Neiman Marcus at 65% off-- I had been looking for them all season and then there they were-- magically on the sales rack in my size, it felt like Christmas!) but I will wear them through the holiday season.
6. These Marni shoes ($795) are so diva-licious!  My friend  The Shoe Goddess is obsessed with Marni shoes, too.  She bought four pairs from this collection!

necklace08.jpgBold Jewelry- I am really into Kara Ross chunky cuffs- being petite, I wear one big piece at a time.  8. I've had this black Hematite cuff from the Kara line for almost a year.  7. The two fuschia ones are what I want to add this Fall.
9. I picked up this glittering necklace yesterday at Neiman Marcus ($400)- it was a simple long strand so I tied a knot to the side to give it a bit of attitude.  I wear the knot crooked on the side, not smack middle which is too old fashioned.  But for dressy occasions, I can still wear it as a long strand.

Coats- 10. I mentioned I got the Miu Miu Double-breasted princess coat $1,320 at net-a-porter.com last week, it arrived the next day (love Net-a-porter!) and fit me like a dream.  I am planning many looks around this lovely princess coat!

Hats- I love hats and have dozens that I've collected through the years.  11. I picked up this cheeky berry colored Fedora hat by Marzi at Neiman Marcus yesterday ($260)-- it will perk up all of my black and gray coats!  12. The dark gray Fedora hat is vintage, I got it in Paris in June, it is from "Huckel- Seit 1799" Paris 1900 - 12, Avenue P.V. Couturier Vitry Sur Seine-- 4. and it has a small crest on back corner.  It is in pristine condition and I can't wait to wear it all winter long!  Jeans and a white shirt with a black coat, my fuschia Miu Miu princess coat, it will go with so many things!

Waist cinching belt- 13. YSL belt with elastic band gave me back my pre-baby 21 inch waist!  The elastic has sparking metallic thread through it for that extra kick.  I will be wearing it with coats, jackets, dresses, everything!  $395

That's it for Act I of my Fall shopping.  Stay tuned for Act II when I hit New York and LA in September!
