Three Blondes New York

user-pic

Two of my friends, Summer Rej and Jennifer Meyers, launched their on jewelry, glove, and hair accessories line recently and it has already been featured in the fashion bible, Vogue (well, online at least:-) ). It's called Three Blondes New York and it's currently available at Clyde's on Madison in NYC as well as online. The line is super-feminine with lots of pink, gold, and glitz (their launch party was an Alice and Wonderland themed tea party!), and the pieces have a distinctive old-world charm (think antique lace gloves). Summer and Jennifer have dabbled in fashion for years -- before going off to college they started a line of tees that featured sassy statement like, "I summer in the Hamptons," "Debutante Striptease," and "Ladies who Lunch," that became popular in young UES circles (on a side note when she was still in High School Summer came-up with a color for a Chanel polish, Tickled Pink, that was actually put into production!). The Three Blondes New York offerings are pretty wide and obviously I'm biased because I know the designers, but if you're looking for an under $100 gift for a girly-girl, I would recommend checking the pieces out!

King of Faux: Kenneth Jay Lane

user-pic

kenneth jay.jpg

I love the vintage vibe of Kenneth Jay Lane's latest collection.  The undisputed king of faux, KJL pieces are beautifully made and though a bit pricey for costume-- the designs are so worth it.  I'm into anything with feathers right now-- just picked up art deco antique chandelier and sconces from the 1920's for my new dining room, feathers lend such lightness and whimsy!  I have featured the feather cuff before and it was too big for my tiny wrists so I had to stare in envy at all my friends who bought it on my recommendation.  Very excited about the feather pin and earrings, click click buy.  What do you think of KJL?

Molly Sims Grayce Collection

user-pic
Guest blog by Molly Sims

mollysimsheadshot.jpgI have been a fan of Bag Snob for quite some time and I am so excited to be here to announce the launch of a new collection of fashion jewelry I have designed for HSN, Grayce by Molly Sims.

Jewelry has always been a passion of mine. I grew up in the South where my mom spent most weekends scouring the estate auctions for unique pieces. I inherited this pastime, and found some treasures of my own during my time modeling and living abroad.

When I began to create my own line, I was inspired by the jewelry my mom and I had collected. I wanted a line that exhibited 'grayceful glamour,' and that would be able to demonstrate the different girls that are each representative of a part of who I am: from the classic all-American girl and glamorous red carpet diva to the sexy swimsuit model who moonlights as a world traveling bohemian.

It's been fun creating Grayce and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I loved making it a reality.

(Molly is wearing the Grayce by Molly Sims Deco 18" Necklace $98.95 as seen below left. Below center-- Grayce by Molly Sims Deco 7-3/4" Cuff Bracelet ($89.95) and Grayce by Molly Sims "Crystal Point" Drop Earrings ($59.95). Below right: Grayce by Molly Sims "Grayceful" 62-1/2" Necklace ($89.95)

To see the premiere collection, please tune in to HSN on Friday, November 13, 2009 at 10 pm (EST) and on HSN.com!  The jewelry ranges in price from $30 - $120.

Vita Fede Canti Cuffs

user-pic

vitafede_Canti_cuff.jpg

We are having a major cuff moment-- Vita Fede's versatile Canti cuffs make accessorizing easy and effortless!  These soft lamb leather bracelets are available in grey with silver hardware or peach/camel/turquoise/white with 24K gold plate hardware. The grey, camel and white options are the perfect neutral accents, while the turquoise and peach choices add a pop of color and pizzazz to any ensemble-- especially jeans.  We love them stacked, too!

Alexander McQueen Studded metal bangle

user-pic

McQbangle.jpgMcQheart.jpg
It's not everyday that I come across a studded metal bangle that manages to look at once luxurious and bad ass.  It's a combination McQueen is known for and does to a perfection.  Studs are no longer relegated to Fulsom Street in SF, the trend is hot and shows no sign of slowing down.  Looking cool does not come cheap, however, this baby is $1,095!  Okay, so a lot of work went into this black enamel bangle but still, quite steep for something so trendy.

Frugal Snob: Steal of the day!

user-pic

targetbracelet.jpgtargetbracelet2.jpg
I've been sporting these enamel bracelets all summer long and every time I wear them, girlfriends ooohhh and aaaahhh and say "Chanel?"  Not even close!  I got them at Target, for $9.99 each.  Yup, and they look amazing in person and because they're stretchy, they fit on most wrists.  The key to high low is knowing when to splurge (diamonds, birkins and good shoes) and when to save (costume jewels).  Run to your nearest Target and check out the fashion jewelry section, you'll be surprised at what you find!

Hermes Rivale Bracelet

user-pic

hermes rivale.jpgDSC00797.JPG

Lisa, one of my best friends from Cornell, just moved to Madrid so I went to visit her last week and then we hopped on a plane to Barcelona for a few days. She lives in the Salamanca district and her apartment is only a handful of blocks from Hermes so naturally I wandered in! I was not expecting to buy anything -- just wanted to oogle the Collier de Chien belt and cuff (I've wanted both forever -- how could I not -- but cannot bring myself to pay the price. Though when I saw Couture Snob Tina looking so chic in her belt during Fashion Week all I could think of was running into the nearest Hermes boutique and snatching them both up!!). Incidentally the Madrid Hermes boutique had neither the cuff nor the belt, but they did have a relatively new bracelet called Rivale (371 euros or $480). It looks like a cross between my coveted Collier de Chien ($1000) and the Kelly Double Tour ($410), which I have in white and is one of my fave bracelets (bought it in St. Tropez about three years ago -- I wear it quite often and even though it's white it has never gotten dirty). I'm loving the Rivale which I got in taupe with silver hardware (matches my watch!). It's a great buy -- easy to wear and the price isn't too guilt-inducing. It's sort of like the frugal woman's Collier de Chien:)

Frugal Snob: Marc Jacobs Leather Bangles

user-pic
marcjacobs_leatherbangles.png

These Marc Jacobs leather bangles are easy additions to your wardrobe that will go with anything if you get all the colors and mix and match as you need. And you can get all 6 colors without feeling a pinch because these are the deal of the century and they are not on sale, from an outlet or Marc by Marc Jacobs. I was at the Marc Jacobs boutique in LA on Melrose looking at their new bags and when I saw these bangles, I thought to myself, these would be great but are probably $100 each and as if reading my mind, the sales associate said, "These are only $7 each". SEVEN DOLLARS!! Pack them up, I said. And my 2 girlfriends with me did the same. Depending on what you have on you can wear the warm or cool tones together for perfect coordination no matter what. Or wear all of them! I put them with wider leather cuffs that I have for added dimension and layering. Call the Melrose Place store in LA before they sell out, 323.653.5100.

Dress it up with Geometrics

user-pic

I love this Stella McCartney Silk blend bandage dress but it needs to be merchandised with a bit of bling.  Not over accessorizing but just a few details that will take it from simple to glamorous!  The copper geometric cuff from Missoni sets off the pinkness of the dress fabulously not to mention it's an inexpensive way to jewel up the dress.  The short sleeves of the dress will leave most of your arms bare which means the cuff will really stand out. Jump to see how to make this outfit even more eclectic!
