Lucila Iotti Shoes

user-pic

I'm obsessed with Lucila Iotti shoes! The super sexy shoes are designed by Iotti in her hometown of Buenos Aires where her father, Jorge Iotti, began his tailoring shop in 1920 (the designer has a boutique there as well...can't wait till March when I'm in Argentina to check it out!). Iotti uses a variety of colors and textures (patent leather, suede, satin, vinyl...) -- her shoes are definitely not for the shy. They're bold, loud, and demand attention, but paired with a LBD and some confidence they're simply magnifique! On a side note, Patricia Field has been a vocal admirer of this brand, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of these shoes make an appearance in SATC II:-) So far the shoes are only sold at the boutique in Argentina, but email info@lucilaiotti.com with the name of the style you like and they can mail it to you via Fedex (prices start at 710 pesos which is around $540).

Givenchy Netted Ankle Boots

user-pic

givenchy_nettedankleboots.jpg
Battlestar Galactica anyone?  If you're too young to know what I'm talking about, skip to the  next entry.  Seriously, if this is the design of the future I'll have to wear old shoes for the rest of my life.  The space age inspired design of mesh and elastic look really cheap (and how are you supposed to pull them on if you have wide feet?).  They kind of remind me of my diving shoes, sans the toes.  Actually, I can't really imagine these with anything other than a wet suit-- now if they'd just put some flippers on the back it'd make a great swim shoe.  Givenchy Netted Ankle Boots $450.00

GRYSON Cornelia Motor Boots

user-pic

corneliaboots.jpg
iconMy friend Joy Gryson was wearing these boots last spring (she designed them so she gets samples 6 months before the rest of us pedestrians!) and I made her take them off so I could try them on. We wear the same size shoe so it makes things very convenient for me come sample sale time!   But the Cornelia Motor Boots were so cool I could not wait. Ordered them on the spot and they just showed up today-- perfect for the slight chill of fall weather and I'm wearing them right now with a black mini dress.  I never thought I could carry off over the knee boots let alone flat ones but Joy is my height and she understand that flat boots must be tailored to the leg to look flattering.

Plus the shrunken lambskin is soooo soft that I feel like I'm just wearing socks! I also love the edgy motorcycle flap detail, it's removable which give the boots a totally different feel when you take it off. Two for the price of one! I know these will sell out- hurry and grab a pair, you won't find a better pair of flat boots for the season! GRYSON Cornelia Flat Motor Boots $675 here

Sergio Rossi for Puma

user-pic

puma 2.jpgpuma 3.jpg

I still can't believe that Sergio Rossi is closing all of its freestanding stores in the U.S.! So sad, luckily the Italian brand will still be sold in department stores. l am wondering however if the teaming-up of Sergio Rossi and Puma has anything to do with Sergio Rossi being strapped for cash. The Sergio Rossi for Puma capsule collection features satin lace-up sneakers done in a variety of colors each of which retail for $190 -- almost three times the price of the average Puma sneaker. I completely understand that this being a special collaboration that the sneakers need to sell at a premium, but there doesn't seem to be all that much innovation here! Looking at the pair pictured above I wouldn't think they were anything other than an average pair of Pumas. They actually look somewhat like bowling shoes to me...I mean seriously -- couldn't they have at least put some cool shoe laces!?

Frugal Snob: Heidi Klum's Gladiator Sandals $50!

user-pic

heidiklumbump.jpg
libbiesandals50.jpgI'm sorry, is Heidi Klum really pregnant? Her bump is so cute and small not to mention she is still soooooo skinny everywhere else!  So unfair huh?  Most of us would kill to look this good not pregnant.  Love Heidi but not sure about her Steve Madden Libbie sandals.  Too strappy and too flat for me, my arches are sore just looking at this.  What do you think?

Nicole Richie rocks the flat: Modern Vintage Fabrizia

user-pic

nicolerichiemodernvintage.jpg
Pregnant mommy Nicole Richie is practical and chic in her Modern Vintage Fabrizia flats (she has more sense than I did when my son was a baby, I once actually tripped while wearing platforms and carrying him. Good thing the hubby caught us both). I am not usually a flat sandals girl but this is so cute I might just have to get a pair. Love the soft braided upper, there is also a padded footbed that features Stiletto Rx™ technology to reduce pain and burning on the bottom of the foot (perfect for the swollen feet of a pregnant woman!). Get Modern Vintage - Fabrizia (in Black Vintage or Sand Vintage here.

Jenny McCarthy in Dana Davis Elba

user-pic

danadavis_elbablack.jpgdanadavis_elbabrown.jpg

jennymccarthy_danadavis.pngI have got all your flats needs covered, as you've noticed if you are following all my shoes stories. I just find it unnecessary to try so hard wearing heels all the time, and there is that breezy, easy chic when wearing great flats. Look how amazing Jenny McCarthy looks in them, with white pants she is the perfect summer bunny! Well, she is seen here in Malibu so it can be a bit chilly, thus the turtle neck and cardigan (but could it really be that cold?). Well, she looks hot no matter what but as a mom, she looks appropriate in an easy casual outfit.

These strappy thongs have a bonus, one that might be better than its good looks, it has built in orthodics!! Amazing right? A lot of flats become really painful because it gives no support, but these hug your feet in absolute comfort. The brown leather and karung ($430) is the ultimate in breezy chic, the added exotic makes up for some of the glam lost by wearing flats. And it is only a few bucks more than leather, although the black leather ($405) is super versatile and still totally cute.

Get the Look: Kristen Davis

user-pic
Generra Ruffle Trim Dresskristindavis7091.jpg

It's hard to imagine Charlotte from SATC in a casual white dress with flat Miu Miu Cabochon sandals and braided hobo but Kristin Davis?  She is the epitome of hippie chic strolling on Sunset Blvd.  If you love the breezy look, grab a loose fitting white dress like the Generra Ruffle Trim Dress and a pair of jeweled flats.  Kristin's Miu Miu Cabochon flats are $595 and sold out.  Here is another thong sandal version from Miu Miu that I actually find cuter but if you like the ornate look there is a high heeled Cabochon sandals ($750).

Christian Louboutin Fred Glitter Lace-Up Shoes: Snob or Slob?

user-pic
48279_ou_l.jpg

My first reaction to these shoes was eeck! But after seeing them paired with a sleek suit, I'm kind of loving the Fred Astaire meets Michael Jackson look of these Christian Louboutin Fred glitter lace-up shoes ($595). I'm curious what others think because I know there has been a lot of sequins and sparkle in street fashion lately. It's been a trend for awhile now, but with MJ's unfortunate passing there has been an acute surge (I can't go one night without counting at least 20 sequin tops or jackets!). Have you been wearing more sparkle as an homage to the king of Pop? Would you invest in these shoes?
