Saving money does not mean saving on style, and designer brands. Auction sites like ideeli is the Frugal Snob's best friend. I have been buying up a storm and spending very very little. And for shoes, you really cannot compromise on the shoes, they have to be nice. But instead of buying $1000 shoes, I am opting to spend that at ideeli for an entire summer wardrobe, including a formal gown for a jewelry launch party I am attending. And shoes like these Georgina Goodman sandals which start at $225, they're disco sexy and uber comfortable. They kind of remind me of Pierre Hardy! The sale for these start today and you can join for free through Couture Snob's special link. Enter your email address and you will get alerts on when the sales starts. Shop smart and still look fabulous!

These are the craziest shoes I've ever seen. It is like the Phantom of the Opera half masked shoe for the slightly deranged and seriously obsessed. I love Zanotti, it was my shoe of choice for my wedding so I have a special place in my heart for it, but now seeing this, I am feeling like I might not be as sane as I thought. Well, of course designers go through phases and this is not indicative of the entire collection. Let's just hope. I can see how this might be more comfortable than strappy sandals especially with the wedge but even to be edgy this is just too weird. And really ugly. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $595.

Oh my, head to toe in the latest trends does not a fashionista make. Or does it? Check out Beyonce in distressed denim trend from J Brand worn with a burnout distressed tank, YSL cage shoes and a Valentino bag. I like them all individually, but thrown together it feels a tad too busy. What do you think? Snob or Slob?

Christian Louboutin Scarpe Platform Slingbacks ($1095); Jimmy Choo Peep-Toe Platforms ($650)
; Oscar de la Renta Peep-Toe Pumps ($675)
Peep toes are sexy and chic. But, and here is a very important BUT, your toes really need to stay contained IN the peep hole, otherwise it is a disgusting mess. If there is one pet peeve of mine that drives me completely mad, it is the big toe jutting out of the peep toe. The operative word here is "peep", you get a glimpse. I see girls with their big toe completely hanging out and off the shoe and I just want to shake some sense into her. It's like, did you really think that's what that hole is there for? For your big toe to come out like a turtle's head? NO!!! There are many options for peep toes that fit all feet and toes. If you have issues with a renegade toe, try peep toes with a smaller opening, like these Oscar de la Renta Peep-Toe Pumps or if you find that it is caused by your foot sliding forward, foot straps like the one on the Jimmy Choo Peep-Toe Platforms
will hold your foot in place. The peep toes on Louboutins are more centered so the big toe will keep more to one side, the Christian Louboutin Scarpe Platform Slingbacks
with the stacked platform is so HOT, these are the newest of the collection and is already an instant classic. I do not like the tiny peep toes, but if you must go there then do it. Please!!
I can't explain the allure of Azzedine Alaia. I mean the man has not done anything different for, like, 20 years but his little stretchy dresses still cause as much stir today as they did in the '80s. Perhaps that is his brilliance, why fix it if it's not broken right? I have a few key pieces of clothing from Alaia and don't feel like I ever need to buy any more, ever. A slim fit A line skirt, a cardigan and a sexy black dress-- basics I wear over and over, so what else does a girl need from Alaia?A pair of fierce Alaia platforms! So it costs as much as your mortgage payment but let's not talk about that right now (I just know it will go on sale and I will wait until the last markdown like I did with the black satin and crocodile pair that I picked up for $270 that originally retailed for $1,850-- my size is always left, sometimes being the shortest girl in the 'hood is not such a bad thing!). Instead, let's discuss the beautifully hand cut lace pattern, also an Alaia signature. Peekaboo toe, ankle strap and insane 5" heel make them the perfect party shoes! And I don't care if I'll look like I'm wearing stilts. These are the baddest stilts on earth! They are $1,670 (gasp for air, go ahead, I'll wait) but like I said, I know they will make it to sale. So I'm waiting. If you're a size 7 I'd be more worried. Email Eddie Curtis (my enabler, damn him!) for more details!
Not that you need an excuse to buy Louboutin shoes but how can you refuse a great cause? The Shoe Goddess turned us on to these fab pink platform shoes from Christian Louboutin made for Foot Candy. All proceeds will go to to the GTAEF charity (Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation), which help rescue elephants from the streets of Thailand! You can read more about the rescued elephants at www.elerescue.org.
I am dying to click on size 35.5 while it's still available but really can't justify buying a thousand dollar pair of pink fabric shoes to save elephants in Asia when our own economy is suffering so badly. Child abuse in the US is at an all time high-- our kids need our help (I'm actually looking for items for silent auction for the Children Advocacy Gala-- if you are a designer or in PR and can help, email me!! But hey, if you were planning to pick up a new pair of Loubies anyway, why not save an elephant or two while you're at it. $895 at Footcandy.
Drew Barrymore never ceases to surprise me, she re-invents herself as often as Madonna but does it ever so subtly that you don't notice until she's changed again. I am loving her latest look; a striking black and white graphic dress with a pair of standout red hot heels. Her skin and hair also look amazing, luminous and very glamorous! It doesn't take much to copy this look; we found a couple of options that are not only similar, but very affordable. This casual chic dress from Diane von Furstenberg is versatile and will go from day to night. You can add a belt for a fitted look or just leave it breezy and easy. Diane von Furstenberg El Shane Dress $395 at Shopbop. These red slingback are a major bargain at $70 for real leather! rsvp - Cassidy (Red Patent Leather)

How hot are these Prada shoes for Pre-Fall? I want all of them but am especially obsessed with this black strappy platform pair on the left. The cutout shoe shape continues strong for the next season so if you got a pair this season, keep them! Prada shoes are not the most comfortable for me though. The arch is always too exaggerated and the sole is not cushioned enough but it's getting much better due to the higher platform. Prada shoes are also more reasonably priced than the competition-- $620 is no bargain but compared to $1,020 for a pair of double platform Loubousins it feels like a steal! $620-$695 Pre-order Prada Pre-Fall Shoes here.

I don't think I've ever bought Stuart Weitzman shoes but these Tijuana platforms are making me re-think the brand of (semi) affordable shoes. I love the multi strap with platform, it's gladiator without being too exaggerated and still has a bit of sex appeal. I saw them at Saks, tried them on and almost bought them but am not sure how they wear so I decided to wait until I consulted my fellow shoe snobs. Can anyone tell me if Stuart Weitzman shoes are 1. Comfy after hours of wear and 2. Sturdy enough to last the season?
