Lucila Iotti Shoes

user-pic

I'm obsessed with Lucila Iotti shoes! The super sexy shoes are designed by Iotti in her hometown of Buenos Aires where her father, Jorge Iotti, began his tailoring shop in 1920 (the designer has a boutique there as well...can't wait till March when I'm in Argentina to check it out!). Iotti uses a variety of colors and textures (patent leather, suede, satin, vinyl...) -- her shoes are definitely not for the shy. They're bold, loud, and demand attention, but paired with a LBD and some confidence they're simply magnifique! On a side note, Patricia Field has been a vocal admirer of this brand, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of these shoes make an appearance in SATC II:-) So far the shoes are only sold at the boutique in Argentina, but email info@lucilaiotti.com with the name of the style you like and they can mail it to you via Fedex (prices start at 710 pesos which is around $540).

Melissa Vivienne Westwood Shoes: Snob or Slob?

user-pic

melissa-heart-gold-bm.jpgmelissa-dragon-smoke-bm.jpgmelissa-aurora-gold-am.jpg

These awful looking shoes are the result of a collaboration between Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and Melissa shoes. To Vivienne Westwood's defense there are pretty much no Melissa shoes that end-up looking particularly attractive. People claim that they're amazingly comfortable (Melissa shoes are made out of recycled and recyclable plastic), but I find it hard to believe that plastic can be comfortable (though I have never tried a Melissa shoe on so I can't attest for sure). Comfortable or not however these shoes are hideous!

What do you think about this collaboration? Snob or Slob?

Givenchy Peep Toe Booties Fall 2009

user-pic
Givenchy_AnkleBoots.jpgicon

I live in my Givenchy peep toe booties from spring, they are so well worn that the paint on the front has chipped off! It's one of the things in my closet that instantly make me feel good when I put them on no matter my mood. I do have a small issue with mine, though.  The zippers go straight up to the top of the ankle and make it hard to walk sometimes so I have to unzip it halfway but then it sometimes will unzip all the way if I'm walking too fast.  The fall version is way more practical, having the zippers on the side will solve my issue!  it also looks more streamlined.  Hum... should I replace?  Decisions!  Givenchy Peep-Toe Ankle Bootsicon

Christian Louboutin Studded Very Prive Peep-Toe

user-pic

christianlouboutin_studpeeptoe.pngicon

Holy crap, is this the most awesome shoe you've ever seen or what? Like, they are literally, Killer Heels. Do not get within 5 feet of me if I am in a bad mood. Hmmm, these would be good when I'm pissed off at my husband, he'll steer well clear of me. You gotta look close, these are not pyramid studs, these are serious super sharp pointy studs that will cause real damage. You put these on and it does not matter in the slightest what you are wearing on top. You can probably walk around in your bra and underwear and people (when I say people, I actually mean girls) will be like, "Great shoes!". At Saks Fifth Avenueicon for $995.

Donna Karan should really stick to Ready to wear

user-pic
dkshoescroc.jpg It baffles me how Donna Karan accessories do not translate to its ultra chic line of clothing AT ALL. I mean look at these shoes-- do they remotely resemble anything that should go with any of the outfits below? Most designers make shoes to go with their dresses but this is clearly not the case here. Donna, please, I beg you. Stick to your beautifully draped dresses and leave shoes to the likes of McQueen, Louboutin and Zanotti (and rid yourself of your accessories designers and/or stop licensing out your brand!). I mean yeah-- they're reasonably priced (kinda) but they look like they belong at F21 for about $10. What's wrong with them you ask? You don't have eyes? Do I need to spell it out? The hideous faux croc skin, the cheap lugged sole, awful silver studs, bizarre buckled strap and on and on and on. All at Bergdorf Goodman. And oh my god, don't get me started on her bags. It's midnight, I'm tired and need to hit the sack (you won't read this til tomorrow morning.)

So, what do you think? Am I just bloated and bitchy (from a heavy meal at a Turkish restaurant) or do you agree? Snob or Slob?

Booty Call!

user-pic

AMcQueen_PeepToeAnkleBoots.jpgGiuseppeZanotti_ZipAnkleBoots.jpgRupertSanderson_KhyberSandals.jpg

The best booties for Fall have arrived and I am dying to get my feet in them.  First, Alexander McQueen Peep-Toe Ankle Boots ($1155) with skull zipper pull and hidden platform.  Love the foldover flap detail with small buckles, I don't like the way ankle booties feel against the front of my legs and leaving it open is genius!  I love the open toe booties, makes it versatile in the warmer months, too.  This will be hot with a little dress!

Giuseppe Zanotti Zip-fastening Ankle Boots ($975) is also punky and fun with multiple zipper details but is best saved for Fall.

Rupert Sanderson Khyber Cutout Sandals ($975) is less bootie than sandal but still has the edgy look.  Now this will go with anything, including black tights in the winter.

A month in the life of a Shoe Snob

user-pic
ingelmobooties.jpgingelmobluebooties.jpg
I am an obsessed shoe shopper-- it is at the same level as my bag habit if not even more insane (I'd say for every bag I buy, I buy 6 pairs of shoes!). I actually wanted to do a shoe blog when we started Bag Snob but did not have the time with a newborn baby plus Kelly said there were too many shoe blogs already. givenchybootssale609.jpgAnyway, last month was a very satisfying shoe month. I bought everything from S/S 2009 to F/W 2009 and a few at Neiman Marcus Last call for practically free.  I had some free time this morning and took photos so I can share all the yummy purchases.

First, I am completely and totally addicted to Alejandro Ingelmo shoes, especially the Pistola bullet shoe boot (no need for a gun when you've got these babies on)! I bought the pale blue pair at Neiman Beverly Hills (full price) only to see them a few weeks later on Gilt.com for 70% off in grey patent. I grabbed them and justified it in my mind as getting two pairs of current season shoes for about 40% off total (you can get the pink pair here at Brown's Fashion full price). They are the most kick ass booties, ever (other than my Givenchy booties that I got at Barneys last week when it went 40% off).  The black t-strap sequin shoes below left are from Miu Miu pre-Fall 09 currently at Neiman Marcus-- email Connie for a pair.  And the Jil Sander hot pink shoes were 90% off at Neiman Marcus Last Call, yes you read correctly.  90% off!  How can a girl resist a pair of sexy stilettos that resemble ancient Chinese architecture, in pink no less!?!?!? (Jump for more!)

Shoes on sale at Barneys!!!

user-pic

loubiesonsale509.jpg

givenchybootssale609.jpgI was having a crappy morning until I saw all these crazy fabulous Louboutins on sale-- nothing perks a girl up than a great shoe sale. Actually the sale price is the price Louboutins cost when I first started buying them so you better jump on them quickly!!! I don't think I've ever seen the classic Yoyo slingback styles on sale-- especially in black. I love the triple platforms called 123 Scarpe. I had a pair of double platforms on the other day and my hubby took one look and said "too high". My response was, "too high for what? I'm not running a marathon or walking to the park in them. And nothing is EVER too high!" Check out the Givenchy booties on the left, on sale for $629-- totally SICK! Check out all the sale selections here!

Miu Miu Sequined Cutout Booties

user-pic
miumiusequinshoes.jpgI swore off new shoes for the summer (considering I picked up 7 pairs last month) but this pair came up and tempted me so badly that I closed my eyes, clicked on buy, and promised myself it's the last pair of shoes til Fall. How can anyone resist these fabulous shoes from Miu Miu? It's pre-fall and just arrived last week at Saks and Neiman Marcus in Nero (black) glittered patent leather with peep toe and cutout sides and elastic slingback. Covered 1" platform and 4 7/10" heel and they look great with skinny jeans or a dress/skirt. Most t-straps are clunky but this pair has a delicate feel to them. They are super high but between the platform and the t-strap holding your foot in, it's like wearing running shoes (not really but they are comfortable, I swear!). Email Connie Dieb asap and get a pair, Saks sold out of them already within a week! $580
