Amanda Seyfried is smoking hot in Brian Atwood shoes

user-pic
Cast member Amanda Seyfried attends the premiere of the film Dear John in Los Angeles
Brian Atwood is fast becoming my favorite shoe designer, his designs are edgy yet timeless and have plenty of sex appeal!  What else can you ask of a shoe?  Seriously, look at the "Kendall" shoe Amanda Seyfried has on-- this is one of the hottest shoes of the season!  I am not loving her dress, however, the plunging waistline neckline thing is really tired.  I prefer a bare back.  Brian Atwood at Net-a-porter.com icon

Lucila Iotti Shoes

user-pic

I'm obsessed with Lucila Iotti shoes! The super sexy shoes are designed by Iotti in her hometown of Buenos Aires where her father, Jorge Iotti, began his tailoring shop in 1920 (the designer has a boutique there as well...can't wait till March when I'm in Argentina to check it out!). Iotti uses a variety of colors and textures (patent leather, suede, satin, vinyl...) -- her shoes are definitely not for the shy. They're bold, loud, and demand attention, but paired with a LBD and some confidence they're simply magnifique! On a side note, Patricia Field has been a vocal admirer of this brand, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of these shoes make an appearance in SATC II:-) So far the shoes are only sold at the boutique in Argentina, but email info@lucilaiotti.com with the name of the style you like and they can mail it to you via Fedex (prices start at 710 pesos which is around $540).

Pierre Hardy for Gap Summer 2010 Shoes

user-pic

pierrehardygap.jpg

I popped into Gap's New York showroom yesterday to preview their upcoming collections and, much to my delight, discovered that it's all about "Brand Americana" for summer (think floral, folk rock, homegrown and white-on-white)! It makes particular sense given the brand's American roots (not to mention they're sponsoring this year's Costume Institute Gala, whose theme is "American Women: Fashioning a National Identity.") But my eyes were immediately drawn to the shoes, and I was happy to learn that Gap's partnership with Pierre Hardy continues on! What do you think of this first-look at the summer collection? The capsule includes three wedge styles and one flat denim gladiator version. The scarf-tie wedge is pretty cute to wear with an eyelet dress or skirt while the denim ones would like quite balanced with a thin motorcycle jacket and cigarette pants. Needless to say, these aren't the works of couture art Mr. Hardy does for Balenciaga, Hermès or his own line, but they continue to be a great way for every stylish girl to get herself a little bit of French-infused design!

$98 available at select Gap stores May 4

Yves Saint Laurent Hamptons Braided Sandals

user-pic

yves_saint_laurent_hamptons_braided_sandals.jpg

This is the perfect strappy sandals for me and all I'll need for the whole season. There is nothing you cannot wear with this, the khaki is the perfect neutral to wear with brights as well as black. The braided straps dresses it up a bit but wear this with jeans and little dresses for day and you will be hotter than the summer heat. And with all those straps, you will not need to worry about the stiletto heel, which is the trend now, no more clunky heels, the slender and sexy is back (again!). Yves Saint Laurent Hamptons Braided Sandals at Net-a-Porter for $895.

Melissa Vivienne Westwood Shoes: Snob or Slob?

user-pic

melissa-heart-gold-bm.jpgmelissa-dragon-smoke-bm.jpgmelissa-aurora-gold-am.jpg

These awful looking shoes are the result of a collaboration between Vivienne Westwood Anglomania and Melissa shoes. To Vivienne Westwood's defense there are pretty much no Melissa shoes that end-up looking particularly attractive. People claim that they're amazingly comfortable (Melissa shoes are made out of recycled and recyclable plastic), but I find it hard to believe that plastic can be comfortable (though I have never tried a Melissa shoe on so I can't attest for sure). Comfortable or not however these shoes are hideous!

What do you think about this collaboration? Snob or Slob?

Donna Karan Cork and Suede Wedges

user-pic

donnakaran_cork_and_suede_wedges.jpg

Ankle strap sandals are so amazingly sexy. It's not for everyone, you have to have long calves which I do have, it is one of the few things I can brag about. The skinny and big boob girls have nothing on my calves made for ankle strap sandals! Hey, I have to be thankful for what I have =) I also love wedges so of course as soon as I saw these, my credit card came flying out. These are super super high with the 1 inch platform and the giant wedge, which means, tread lightly and make sure you walk only on even ground. The wedges help in that department but one misstep and that sexy ankle is in a cast! At Net-a-Porter for $695.

Givenchy Netted Ankle Boots

user-pic

givenchy_nettedankleboots.jpg
Battlestar Galactica anyone?  If you're too young to know what I'm talking about, skip to the  next entry.  Seriously, if this is the design of the future I'll have to wear old shoes for the rest of my life.  The space age inspired design of mesh and elastic look really cheap (and how are you supposed to pull them on if you have wide feet?).  They kind of remind me of my diving shoes, sans the toes.  Actually, I can't really imagine these with anything other than a wet suit-- now if they'd just put some flippers on the back it'd make a great swim shoe.  Givenchy Netted Ankle Boots $450.00

Miu Miu Forma cutout sandals

user-pic

These Miu Miu sandals are cagey, edgy and sexy. They're even ideal for winter if you live in warmer climates in the south or west coast.  Wear it with a bare leg to show off the details or with black tights to stave off the chill-- tres versatile!  And this is so obnoxious but at $750 they feel like a bargain compared to the $1550 pair of booties from Louboutin I was looking at the other day.  Sigh, shoes are the new jewels I guess.

Miu Miu Forma cutout sandals here ($750)

Marni Ankle boot: Snob or Slob?

user-pic

marniankleboots.jpgDid I say I liked crazy shoes? These are certainly crazy, but not crazy good, they're kind of crazy random (and leg warmer-ish). The suede boot would be cute if it ended in an open toe, not a whole other shoe all together. I mean what happened here? Half way making the boot someone decided that dancing sandals were a better idea? I am disappointed cuz I adore Marni shoes and scoop up a few pairs each season. These I won't touch even at 75% off. What about you? Snob or Slob?

Marni Ankle boot $885 here.
