Chanel Pavilion in Central Park

Chanelart.jpg Karl Lagerfeld has been making history in the world of fashion for decades, and if that wasn't enough, he is now making history in the world of Architecture. Those of you in NY have probably already heard the Buzz- on october 20th a 20-foot-tall, 95-foot-wide, polymer-clad structure, fashioned after Chanel's iconic 2.55 quilted handbag, will be unveiled. But form follows function, and this structure will serve as a traveling museum with exhibition space for 20 contemporary artists (including Yoko Ono!). All the work on display will be Chanel inspired, specifically, 2.55 inspired. The architect, Zaha Hadid had a remarkable vision that has been very well received amongst art lovers and fashion lovers alike, and most importantly- Karl Lagerfeld.

Zaha Hadid and Karl Lagerfeld.JPG "CHANEL has decided to make the legendary quilted bag the focus of an event on an international scale: MOBILE ART. Just as fashion spreads throughout the world, this traveling event will be presented in Asia, the United States and Europe."

San&Soni is a playful line designed by the innovative design duo Sonali and Inderjeet Singh. The two  met while attending FIT and found not only a design partnership, but also a romantic one. Sonali and Inderjeet married soon after meeting and together began building their dream of designing their own line. The collection features women's high end contemporary sportswear at its best, with inspiration from fabric manipulation and the use of high quality fabrics and unique trims and details. Couture Snob was lucky enough to chat with Sonali to get some insight into her fab line!

Couture Snob: How did you get your start in fashion?

Sonali: I always wanted to be in fashion since my childhood. I used to design my sister's and my clothes since I was 14. My move to New York that is word's fashion hub and FIT was best opportunities came along my way.
