eBay recently launched a new fashion channel and to celebrate it celeb stylist (think Scarlett Johansson and the Olsen twins), Annabel Tollman hosted a small dinner at one of my fave NYC restaurants/bars/hotels, The Crosby Street Hotel. In addition to the visual changes to shopping fashion items on eBay, Tollman and a slew of other style experts have made videos to give shopping tips and share their take on the latest trends. The most exciting thing I learned at the dinner however is that, in the coming weeks, there will be a new app coming out for iPhones where users can take a picture of themselves and then click on something they see up on eBay and drag it over their stock picture to see how it would look on themselves...how awesome is that!? I hope other website catch on to this too. If so I might just have to bite the bullet and ditch my Verizon Blackberry for an iPhone! I'll be the first to admit, I just don't have time to read many blogs but one that I do enjoy for the witty writing and relevant topics is Jezebel. I just have to share the 1972 Sears Spring Summer catalog, you will want to order if you could, except probably remade in cotton instead of everything polyester. I MUST have that all plaid fully coordinated suit!! Awesome!! And the beach robe is to die, you cannot go wrong with a full length hoodie, seriously, why don't they make them anymore? Not that I ever owned one, I was one year old in 1972 and I can't say that I know if this trend ever continued.

I love vintage shopping; one of my many aunts is a die hard vintage collector and she used to drag my cousin and I to every vintage store she could find. My cousin told me the scent is forever imprinted in his brain and he now gags when he smells old clothes.

Unlike him, I have only fond memories attached to the scent of vintage stores. I have scored many fabulous items in my time, including a 50's Valentino cocktail dress, a late 70's Geoffrey Beene gown, YSL haute couture circa 1972 and many many others. Each piece is stored in acid free tissue and a plastic bag, to be pulled out and worn on special occasions or to play dress up when friends come over.
